What I've been up to recently...

Sometimes clients will request that we use Microsoft Word to design a document, but our preference will always be Adobe InDesign for any kind of document or publication. See our list of pros and cons for both Word and InDesign below! 👍️ Word Pros Word is widely used and familiar to most users It can handle minimal layout customisation with some design options Ideal for basic document creation with straightforward designs 👎️ Word Cons Restricted design capabilities, lacking control and precision Limited font options Layout changes when exporting to other formats Issues with compatibility between different versions Finished product is not sophisticated 👍️ InDesign Pros Professional design software with advanced layout capabilities Complete control and customisation of the layout design, fonts and colours Packaging feature makes it easy to include all necessary assets Fine tuning of typography and paragraph styles More control over placing images Finished product is professional and polished 👎️ InDesign Cons Industry specific; not commonly used by most people Tricky for beginners to become familiar with InDesign is very expensive compared to Word Ultimately, the choice between Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign depends on the specific needs of the project, however we will always use InDesign to ensure we create the most high quality product possible for our clients!
